CRISTIANO TOMEI

At the end of the 90’s Cristiano Tomei took just a one way ticket for a journey into the world of taste, flavours, food storytelling and fine dining.

He is a self-taught man:
Naval insistute graduee who learnt cooking while helping his mom during everyday family life, wandering with his best friends surfing all around the world: Basque country, Cuba, Perù, Messico, Bolivia, India, Madagascar.
Just meanwhile his friends went surfing, he attended all the most typical and inviting food markets, inns and gourmand restaurants of the places.

Cristiano opens his first restaurant when he’s 27 right on the beach, a couple of years after it moves to Viareggio L and after more than 10 years to Lucca, where he gains a Michelin star.
Tomei is a true fan of local ingredients: fish that is caught in the Tyrrhenian Sea, meat, dairy products, vegetables and fruit produced in Garfagnana, wild herbs that he picks himself up in the oliveyard or on the dunes in Viareggio.

The chef is also famous for his Italian tv experience – being a part of Masterchef as a guest chef, tv show and conduction of “Cuochi d’Italia”, “ I re della griglia “, “Pupi e fornelli”.. Since 2019 he is in charge of being the Executive Chef at Bauer hotel in Venice and Terraforte restaurant at the Castello del Terriccio estate in the heart of Tuscany.
